In 2004, the City of Burbank formed a group to be the
"eyes and ears" of the new Chandler Bikeway. Comprised
of local residents, the group is coordinated by the Recreation
and Community Services Department. The first meeting of Friends
of the Chandler Bikeway was held Wednesday, September
22, 2004. The group meets quarterly.
"The Chandler Bikeway is a wonderful community
resource that beautifies and unites our neighborhood, and
the entire city of Burbank. As the eyes and ears of the bikeway,
the Friends of the Chandler Bikeway is designed
to allow citizens to play an important role in helping to
preserve this valuable resource, and to assist in making the
bikeway a fun, safe, and positive experience for everybody."
wrote Ernie Seiler, City of Burbank Senior Recreation Leader
and coordinator of the Friends of the Chandler Bikeway.
